Why Does Fireworks Delivery Cost More Than Standard Parcels?

Fireworks are classified as explosives under UK law, which means they can only be transported by a small number of specialist couriers licensed to carry hazardous goods. Standard carriers such as DPD, Hermes, or UPS are not permitted to deliver fireworks, so we work exclusively with licensed hazardous goods specialists.

The cost for us to dispatch an order typically starts between £50–£70. We subsidise a significant portion of this for our customers, with your final delivery charge based on your order value.

Recent changes to UK Firework Regulations, combined with rising fuel costs, have further increased the cost of transporting hazardous goods. We absorb as much of this as possible to keep your delivery charges fair and transparent.

We only deliver within Mainland UK. For island or remote destinations, please contact us before placing your order.

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure someone aged 18 or over is available to accept delivery. The courier will require photographic ID upon delivery. Missed deliveries may incur redelivery charges.

Dispatch Times

Orders are processed Monday to Friday. We aim to dispatch within 1–2 business days of receiving your order. During peak periods such as Bonfire Night, Burns Night, and New Year’s Eve, dispatch times may be slightly longer due to high demand. We recommend ordering early for guaranteed delivery ahead of these dates.

How We Deliver Fireworks in Scotland & the UK

We use a licensed Hazardous Goods courier specialising in fireworks transportation across Scotland and the UK mainland. Standard delivery typically takes 3–5 business days. Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on your location.

Please ensure your delivery address is correct and that an adult aged 18 or over is available to receive the order. A maximum of two delivery attempts will be made. After two failed attempts, the order will be returned to depot and additional charges may apply for further delivery attempts.

Express Delivery – Please Read

Express delivery is subject to courier availability. Where our courier can fulfil the express service, your order will be dispatched accordingly and the express delivery charge will stand. If the courier is unable to fulfil express delivery for your area or on your chosen date, we will automatically revert your order to standard delivery and refund the difference in cost.

If you need your fireworks delivered by a specific date, please contact us before placing your order. We may be able to arrange delivery via our specialist courier network and will do everything we can to meet your deadline.

Do you deliver fireworks to the Scottish Highlands?
Yes, we deliver to the Scottish Highlands and Islands, though a fixed delivery charge of £59.99 applies due to the remote nature of these locations. Please ensure you select the correct delivery zone at checkout.

How long does fireworks delivery take?
Standard delivery takes 5–7 business days to most UK mainland locations. Express delivery options of 3–5 business days are available. During peak seasons such as Bonfire Night and New Year, please allow extra time.

Why can’t you use standard couriers for fireworks?
UK law requires fireworks to be transported by a licensed hazardous goods courier. Standard couriers are not licensed to carry fireworks, which is why specialist delivery is required and costs more than a typical parcel.

Can I get free fireworks delivery?
Yes. Free standard delivery is available on qualifying orders depending on your location and order value. For example, orders over £300 qualify for free delivery to England mainland, and orders over £500 qualify for free delivery to Scotland mainland.

Do you deliver fireworks to Northern Ireland?
We currently only deliver to Mainland UK. Please contact us before ordering if you are based in Northern Ireland or any other non-mainland location.
